SEPTEMBER, 2019 NEWSLETTER
We are honored to have the President of the College of Menominee Nation as our speaker at our next meeting on September 18th. Dr. Paul Trebian will be speaking about what is going on at the college and his goals. The meeting begins 7:00 pm at the Shawano Civic Center. The business meeting will follow.

Guest Tony Gonzalez has an interpreting business “E.A.G. INTERPRETERS” in Wausau. He will be speaking about his experiences in bringing awareness to the needs of the Hispanic community. He has attended various seminars around the country to get a better grip of the human effect, beyond the economic impact of immigration to our country. He realizes that in our current political environment there needs to be bi-partisan solutions. All of the people of America need to listen to each other.
Accompanying Tony is Pastor Jeffrey Todd who has worked in the medical field and currently volunteers in social justice mission work. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling/psychology/administration-organizational behavior.

AUGUST 21ST MEETING AT THE ELAND DEPOT
The Shawano Dems will have their August meeting in western Shawano County at the historic Train Depot in Eland. Beginning with a Pot Luck at 6:15 pm, the speakers and meeting will begin at 7:00 pm. Tony Gonzalez will tell about what has driven him to become an advocate for diversity, inclusion and assimilation for the Hispanic Community in the Wausau area. He has been actively involved in re-establishing a dialogue between the community and legislators. He will be accompanied by Jeffrey Todd, a Certified Medical Practice Executive who now volunteers in social justice mission work. AG WITH PIE AND ICE CREAM
Join the Shawano Dems’ for a pie and ice cream social beginning at 6:30 pm at the Sugar Bowl (136 S. Main St.) on June 19th. For a donation you can choose from several of Denise Riley’s delicious pies.
Shawano County certified organic farmer Rick Adamski will speak about the current status of agriculture at 7:00 pm. He will suggest solutions that can help to improve the status for farmers. Rick currently represents eastern Wisconsin on the WI Farmers Union Board. The Dems’ meeting will follow. Continue reading

Signs for Tony Evers, Josh Kaul and Sarah Godlewski will be delivered to our office on Thursday Sept. 20. The office will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-8:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am-1:00 pm. We also have signs for Tammy Baldwin and Beau Liegeois. More signs for Richard Sarnwick have been ordered.
OFFICE HELP NEEDED
We are in need of people to be in the office when it is open. Jobs include greeting those coming in to get signs, putting signs together and answering the phone. The time could also be used to make phone calls. Sign up by calling the office at 715-201-0809 or by stopping in.
DONATIONS NEEDED
We are looking for grey donkey items to put in our raffle baskets for the Oct. 6th fall dinner. If you have a gently used or new item to donate, please leave it off at the office.
